I received my bachelor’s degree in biology in 2006 from Colby College in Waterville, ME. I am currently a PhD candidate in the Biology Department of Boston University. I began graduate school in 2008. I am interested in a wide variety of ecological questions, but my research at the moment focuses on the effect of climate change on the timing of natural events, such as spring onset and butterfly flight periods. I have been a teaching fellow for a number of undergraduate biology laboratory classes at Boston University, but spent the 2010-2011 academic year as a GK-12 fellow in the GLACIER program. This site contains some of the lesson plans I developed while working in a 5th grade classroom in Brookline, MA. I also maintained a blog during my time as a GK-12 fellow.
