Hollie Emery is a 6th year Ph.D. student in Department of Earth and Environment. Her research focuses on the ecological and biogeochemical changes that occur in salt marshes as a result of human impacts. She has examined the effects of invasive species, tidal restriction, and climate change. She is particularly interested in the effects these human impacts will have on the greenhouse gas fluxes associated with salt marsh plants and the microbial communities in salt marsh sediments.

Hollie is paired with Wendy Hanlon, an 7th grade science teacher at Atlantic Middle School in Quincy.
