Marco Inzunza, a second year graduate student in mechanical engineering, is applying for the Ph.D. program for the fall of 2016. He is currently working in the Acoustics/Vibrations laboratory at Boston University researching plasto-elastic models to determine mechanical properties and achieve specified behavior of metallic open-cell foams.

Marco is teaching 8th grade science in partnership with Kareen Wilkinson at the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School. They are working on developing academic curriculum covering chemistry, astronomy and engineering emphasizing global change topics such as renewable energy, climate change, engineering design concepts, experimental data collection and analysis, global sustainability. His goal is to engage students conducting hands-on learning experiences while teaching underlying fundamental science and mathematics concepts.
