Research Focus:

School Name : Lafayette School, Everett
Teaching Partner: Jennifer Barbarek
Anant's Project GLACIER Site

Anant is a second year Ph. D. candidate in biomedical engineering under Professor Mark W. Grinstaff. He is currently studying polymers that can be applied to cancer therapy and self-assembled drug delivery. Specifically, his work involves the synthesis and characterization of novel, multi-functionalized biomimetic carbohydrate polymers.

Anant is paired with Jen Barborek who teaches five 8th grade classes at the Lafayette K-8 school in Everett, MA. They are working to integrate global change into four diverse units throughout the year: physical and biological materials; biological processes and genetics; environment and climate; and transfer of energy and solar system. Together they will seek to integrate the scientific process including model formation, scientific method, presentation of data, and argument into the curriculum.
